 Installing and configuring your Wi-Fi Range extender/repeater

  • Switch of your router, now plug in the Wi-Fi extender in to a power source and turn it ON.
  • From the list of available wireless networks on your computer in the networks section at the bottom right section, connect to open the network of your TP-Link’s repeater.
  • Now, open the web browser in your system, and in the web address field, type http://tplinkrepeater.net and hit ‘Enter.’
  • In the login prompt that appears on your screen, enter the username and password. If setting up for the first time, default credential for both the fields is ‘admin.’
  • For the secure management of your device, you can create a new username and a new password. Once done, click Confirm.
  • Now select the 2.4GHz network of your router, and enter the wireless password.
  • You can change the SSID of your device for the better security or keep it to the default state. Now click ‘Next.’
  • Once you are over with all the steps given above, click ‘Save. ‘

  1. Connect your computer to the repeater if not connected.
  2. Your computer must obtain an IP Address on its own. If it does not, do so by making changes to the settings.
  3. IP Address of the repeater can be used in the place of tplinkrepeater.net
  4. If nothing works, reset the repeater and configure it once again.

How to reset the repeater?

  • Find a small hole at the back panel of the repeater, and use a small pointed pin or any pointed tool to push the reset button. Continuously push the button for about 5 to 10 seconds. Your repeater will be rebooted to the original factory settings.

By simply following the above mentioned steps, you can successfully configure your TP-Link Range Repeater or Extender. You device is now ready to use.
